A Message from the President of the United States:
On behalf of the people of the United States, I extend our congratulations to the people of Eritrea on the occasion of the 29th anniversary of Eritrea’s independence. As you approach three decades of independence, I once again commend Eritrea’s positive role in the Horn of Africa over the last year, and specifically your efforts to secure peace and pursue economic integration with your neighbors. I hope that
you will continue to consolidate this peace so that as you celebrate thirty years of independence next year you can do so while ushering in a new era for the people of Eritrea and the region. As they have done over the last year, we hope our most senior officials can continue to work together to establish renewed and fruitful relations between our nations so that both of our peoples can achieve their shared goals of freedom and prosperity.
