I THINK what humanitarian extraordinary Awash saying very simple..

Assab port is economical is not viable to Ethiopians or to Amhara
but Assab port is emotional attachment to Amhara people .

if Eritrean were smart they would have given Assab port to Ethiopia and let Ethiopia waste billion of dollar to upgrade the Assab port only to end up hiring Eritreans Afair to work at the port and pay the Eritrean tax...

if Eritrean willing to lease the Assab port to Arab then they can lease it to Ethiopian too.. no harm done to Eritreans but Assab port in Eritrean hand would be costly why because no self respecting Ethiopian use Assab port because to far from Ethiopian state even for golden state...just look the map of Ethiopia and measure how far Assab port is vs how far Djibouti port is .. specially to southern Ethiopian Assab port out of the question ..

as i said Assab port only have emotional value to Amhara even Golden state would not use Assab port even if it free .. to Golden state Massawa port is very close then Assab port..

Ethiopian or the Amhara was using Assab port by forcing coffee exporter from the South to send his coffee to Assab port while Djibouti port were closed to him.. no business people use Assab port i am repeating myself because no Amhara will understand me they shout Assab port Assab port.. as i said if Eritrean were smart they would have shove Assab port and set and live for free just like Djiboutian did ..

now what i said u dont understand i will dumb it down... let say Eritrea have a cow and they have to feed the cow they have to clean the cow why bother why not give the cow to Ethiopian or Amhar let them do the hard work and Eritrea get the milk..trust me no Eritrean will get my point hence Djibouti port will rule the day for long long time...

let me give u another example the corn farmer give u free chicken or one day chicken .. then u will be forced to buy corn from him.. had he not give u one day chicken u will not need corn.. another real life example at first the Western give Ethiopian free fertilizer saying it is donation then they start charging use 500 million dollar ... this is real example u can check it out..
