The majority living in Raya are Tigrayans. Specially Raya Azebo area. There are also some Oromos. The Oromo call Raya to be the epicentre or one of the epicentres of Oromo culture. In a way it is true. The culture is similar to Oromo people. However the language and the court system is Tigrigna and Amharic in South wollo (Raya Qobo). I think Raya should be it's own region or province because they are discriminated by TPLF or Adwa tigrayans. The Amhara also discriminate them The Oromo also want to control the area.

Waja-Alamata-Chercher are Raya Amharan also known as Angot Amhara to be historical Korem are WagAmharans (Angot is the real name of Raya since the times of Aksum Raya was called Angot but was given an Oromiffia name "Raya which means Meklaklya in Amharic" during Zemene Mesafint along with the rest of Amhara-Afar borderlands). The Arid Awraja of Wajerat in southern Enderta and Maychew are Tigrigna speaking Rayans all tigringa Rayan music are from Maychew-Wajerats. many tegarus have migrated to Non-tegaru towns in Wollo like Korem Alamata Chercher during the 1984 Famine.

Historically Korem belongs to Wagamhara, Korem in Wag language is "ኮረም" in Amarigna. The People of Angot spanning Mehoni to Habru are Amhara. and the tribe of Doba are Maychew and Wajerats and are now Tigrayans
