Shyyt head,

You sound like Halafi    Modern aircrafts usually are useless in the third world countries warefare.  When one engages in modern air war, if one locks another aircraft 500 miles away, He or she can easily shoot it. So, pilots always turn their radar detection off. If you turn your radar detection equipment on, you better shoot before someone locks on you. If not, you are dead. The ground missiles have a great advantage. The avionics make the difference. The jets, in the third world countries own lack modern avionics . Those aircrafts are sold with basic 1960's avionics. So, the air war, in the third world will not win you the war. It is the ground war that makes the difference. The ground war is very hard to win if the enemy is mobile.
The US defeated Sadam Hussein within days. But, the insurgency posed a lot of problems. If you understand the Powel Doctrine of the 70's, you would know what Ethiopia would face fighting Eritrea. The frog understood that. That is why he chose international arbitration back in 1998.
