More protests and bloodshed expected in Ethiopia as Abiy moves away from the Oromo base that catapulted him to power
Abiy has finally morphed into a full-blown dictator in the mold of Mengistu Hailemariam. He will probably end up being hated more than the greedy TPLF by the vast majority of Ethiopians except maybe the fat-bellied residents of Finfinne. The most worrying aspect of his leadership is he has veered too far from his base, the Oromo nation, especially the gallant Qeerroo and Qaarree.
The most important question is:
What are the implications for our beloved fatherland Eritrea? Will he resusciate the old expansionist mindset of Menelik, Haileselassie and Derg?
Eritreans should bury our minor differences and overthrow the anti-Eritrean Isaias Afwerqi group. We can't wait and see the situation next door blow up in our faces.
Gid bless Eritrea and the wider Horn of Africa region.

Well, Abiy is doing pretty good, thank you very much. His base as some claimed is not the Oromo people, it is the Ethiopian people. Some people might protest to oppose the lockup of OLF leaders, a few of them. But many times iof that number, if needed, all over Ethiopia rally in supporting the Abiy’s government decision to stop the lawlessness of OLF. Bring it on.

did u heard Straw that broke the camel's back saying ...
small move that have greater impact.... i will give u an example
King haile increased 5c on oil price and lost his power .
Tunisia one guy killed himself over government asking him to pay few Tunisian dinar and Empire lost
mengistu haile mariam lost the whole Ethiopia by refusing to give up two province
Egypt Mubarak, rises the break price and lost his power
Hailemariam desalegn rise tax on poor men and lost his power
TPLF LOST power because of master plan, they cancel it .. they should have left it but they introduce it again and they lost their empire
Al Bashir.... lost his power because he increased price on bread...once u increased the price even if u reduce it the damage was done the people rose up and come to palace holding torch to burn down the palace .. that time is too late...
now u might see arresting 9 OLF official is nothing but u r causing more problem. once the revolution start u cant stop it.. you should take greater caution when u try to stop so called instigators... they r instigators because they have a cause if u want to eliminate so called terrorist, independent fighter, and extremist .. all u have to do is remove their cause ... all trouble maker need a cause..
let say OLF need a cause saying Afan oromia language is oppressed ... so the language right question is their cause .. to stop OLF then u remove their cause by giving them language right , u want to govern your own region okay here it is. u want to control your own resources okay .. you want to count your own vote. okay every cause they rose and up with yes, answer u will practically killed the OLF MOVEMENT
Religion extremist .. our religion oppressed hence we should fight so the same way u will introduce religion freedom and kill the extremist cause..
i want to break way freedom fighter u remove his cause by introducing fed state. this way he is an independent nation or state so why u need to die if u already sovereign state under fed government

Ethoash, your examples stink. It has nothing to do with Ethiopian case. All the examples you mentioned their politics are national in nature. OLF however appeals to a very minority, radical group of the Oromos. They are practically barricaded in Wellega as your uncles had been in Mekele. For your information, Wellega is a minority of Oromia let alone Ethiopia. Did you my friend has observed the Amharas have nothing to do what was going on in western Oromia?

Sam Embulta,
The union ethnics agreed to work together rejected your Qoshasha Ethiopia and Amhara is not Ethiopia, just one ethnic.

Halafi, I have not said Amhara is Ethiopia. You read something that is not written. Paranoid maybe because the “ teret” TPLF fed You is disintegrating before your very eyes. I have no sympathy for you however. If you have an iota of common sense you should retire from participating in any Ethiopian politics. Your brand of politics is dying, and the future will be much worse.

one is one language, one religion, one politics, one line of thinking, one line of hate , one love one flag etc etc. etc = Amhara because before 1991 Ethiopia is synonyms with Amhara
Today after 1991 .. when we refer Ethiopia we mean fed state of Ethiopia ...who have many flag, many language, many kind of thinking hat and love etc etc make all of us Ethiopia ..
so when old timer say Ethiopia he is referring to old Ethiopia which no body want besides Amhara

Ethiohash
you are the most astonishing agamido i ever seen. Have you ever read back what you wrote. You sound so childish and immature. Why the government appease criminals like maro or jal what ever he is called. In any democratic society the rule of law is paramount to the democratic process. If you reward an outlaw you get 100 more therefore you do not negotiate with this kind of ppls you deal with them at any coast.
Just to paraphrase what you said" give him some money and some area to govern and he will be quite and that is your solution" . did you ever thought about the right of ppls to be put under his administration? what if they don't want to be administered by him? What if he kidnap their daughter and rape them like he did and happened to be your daughter or mother for that matter? Has this things ever crossed your mind . What would they do and where will they go to seek justice? or they just armed themselves and start another war is that your thought.
You are filthy agame and you know this animals have no forward looking policy to govern and coexist together because of their inferiority, they just want to get rich and live the remaining few years of their old edge happily ever after by the misery of other oromos.
Abiy did the very right thing actually it is overdue. He should disarm every oromo and agame. and let their problem addressed in democratic process. war and intimidation is the thing of the past during agame short life

Talk is cheap. When the sh*t hits the fans, guys like you will be the first to abandon Prime Dictator Abiy. When the ragrag army of EPLF reached 40km outside Asmera and another ragtam army of TPLF-EPRDF within 60km of Finfinne, none of the noisy good-for-nothing 'Andnet' pretenders came to the rescue of dictator Mengistu. He had no option but to accept the lifeline provided to him by the Americans/ Canadians and flee like a freightened rat to Zimbabwe.

Eripoblikan, it is time to stop [deleted] licking of the OLF. Its political future is as grim as the TPLF of yours. As for your suggesting that people like me will run away from the politics of Abiy you got it completely wrong. As long as Abiy is fighting to the interest of Ethiopia those of us who support his politics keep supporting him.

Whilst the likes of you were chanting "Woyane Leba" outside Ethiopia embassies in North America and Europe after downing cheap MacDonald burgers, it is the gallant youth of OLF who paid the real price and chased the greedy Woyane back to Mekelle.

Coward Abiy is scared of TPLF rats but tries to roar in front of defenceless civilians in Oromia.

Re: More protests and bloodshed expected in Ethiopia as Abiy moves away from the Oromo base that catapulted him to power
Eripolikan,
In Eritrea's case, I never blamed the president. It is the people who surround him that damaged Eritrea's future at the cradle of its independence.Twenty eight years later, it is still a poor country who has been losing its youth for many years. Isayas has been truthful to the Eritrean people. Eritrea is not moving anywhere. He blames others for it though. The president is surrounded with yes men. Pre-independence that was not the case. No one is going to blame guys like Petros and Mesfin as yes men.
Hence independence was realized.
In Abby's case, I think you are wrong. Abby is trying what seems to be impossible. That is democratize Ethiopia and make it free of Ethnic diversion. He has been trying to bring both Oromos and Amharas to the table. These are two giant groups who hold key to future democratization of Ethiopia. He could fail. Hopefully not. The Oromos want a loosely federated country. The amharas want a centralized country. neither side wants to give up its position. Abby seems to favor a more centralized country. He believes that ethnic based federalism will destroy the nation itself.
On the other hand, President Isayas enjoys absolute power over the Eritrean people. Eritreans are easy going people. There is no animosity between ethnic groups. He clearly has taken the people for granted. However, ethnic and religious division most likely will get worse if the current situation persists. Officially, Ethiopia has 116 million people. Eritrea has 3.7 mil. Eritrea's population is contracting. Other than Djibouti, the rest of the Eastern African countries enjoy populations surpassing 20 mil. each. Eritrea is trapped.

That'll exactly be Abiy's undoing: i.e. trying to go back to the dark old days of empty 'Andnet' of Colonel Mengistu and the Emperors.
