There is nothing more annoying than terrible articles written by lazy people. So that 'reporter' looked up a twitter page and decided that is the most accurate source of citizen sentiment... And where does he even get that Ethiopian was quiet about this subject? They gave a press briefing on it just a few days ago and a statement before that.

Stopping flights to China won't stop infected from arriving to Addis. In fact, we could stop flights from all 22 infected countries at this point and infected will still arrive. Either through Ethiopian or some other carrier. We would not only have to ban direct all flights from these destinations but anyone that's ever transited from these countries in the past month. Then we'd have to ban flights from any countries that allow both direct and transit flights to any of those 22 countries. That's everyone in the world.

Last I checked the virus doesn't just infect people who fly. People on ships and vehicles can carry it too. Should we close all our borders and our port activity as well?

I understand some are complaining on twitter because they are scared and they haven't really thought about it much but it's ridiculous to think Ethiopian should be more responsible to soothe them and not do it's job. It can and should make adjustments as things progress but there is no reasoning for a blanket ban on any one country.

Ethiopian Airlines is indeed gambling with fire. They will either burn themselves in the process or come out triumphant. How does that make me an opponent of this magnificent enterprise?
