Eritrea is holding huge coastline in Africa; it's 6th in Africa; Somalia has 2nd largest in Africa. Plenty of space not being used for development in that region. So, this an opportunity to take an investment of 2-3 billion for Eritrea/Somalia/Djibouti.

Ports developed can be used for commercial as well. It has huge employment potential for both countries. Why not compete for such job creation instead? Why miss this investment opportunity? After all, as UN Report shows, Eritrea has leased Assab port to UAE for 30 years and along with its Gulf ally, Saudi Arabia, they've established a military presence in Eritrea in return for monetary compensation and fuel supplies.

With the new Ethiopian government, Eritreans can be equal partners not just spectators & laborers as with Saudi/UAE. Don't you see the advantage? The development may have dual purposes as a commercial as well. Considering the relationship PIA/Dr. Abiy has formed, why not support this investment to enhance that relationship to the fullest? I don't get your opposition to it.

Don't panic and walk around with clenched fists always at every small news items. What is wrong if they keep talking and investigating ways and methods in which every one in the horn and even beyond may come to have common projects which may raise the standard of living and fulfill basic human needs and beyond and if these positive projects may not materialize then you will be given back your familiar wretchedness and poverty in which you are much more comfortable.
