You cannot change history, but you can make history. No indiviudal leader be that Mbkie, Trump or Biden has the power or authority to approve or disapporve the history of Ethiopia. You do not need someone to accredit Ethiopia's own history. The past is past, the presnt is your obligation and tommorrow's the generation coming next. All the so-called developed countriew at one point poor or poorer than today's Ethiopia. Ethiopia used to donate food for countries affected by famine - that was yesterday. China, for instance, was poorer than Ethiopia; Japan was in par with Ethiopia in terms of economic development stage, but these countries are wealthy now.
There was no country called South Africa or Nigeria until colonizers tailored out and named them so. It was Ethiopia that trained South African freedom fighters and even armed Nelson Mandela - that was all yesterday's history. Our country Ethiopia was founded in 1945 after the end of WW2. This year marks our 80th anniversary as we celebrate 80 years of nationhood. We are an old nation, but not very old.

Axum Kingdom rather looked toward and across the Red Sea for most of its needs, i.e. influences, trades and power until the Eastern Roman Empire located at Byzantium in modern day Turkey came calling in. Christianized it in the 4th century AD, colonized and used it as a proxy, to fight its wars against the goldrich Kush Kingdom in the northwest and rich Sabean Kingdom in South Arabia that controlled the spice trade of the Red Sea.
Axum did not expand southward. It did not have to. Its southern and remotest military garrison was in the province of Lasta.
