Basic Amharic is related to Aramaic, Hebrew, Arabic, Geez, Guragegna, Gafategna, and Tigrinya.
The thing is we Amhara did not like the semetic language entirely so we kept our local dialect and and our kind and soft accent mixed it with Geez. We did like many Geez words like Hiwet, Birhan, Serawit, Gezat, Fikr, Desta, Hazen, Haqi, Beyt etc Pure Amharic words are Lij, Joro, Wuha, Wisha, Ameseginalew, Konjo, Ehet, Wendem, Ayat, Akest, Nech etc we intentionally did not allow words like Mai, Haftey, Hawey, Ab, Nay into our language

You are not Amara and you are confused. Amharic did not come from outside. They learned it from Amharic. Remember, they did not know how to write before Alexander, they were learning everything from Amharic.
Horus,
Thank you.

Even Ge'ez is not pure Semetic and is closer to Amharic
Spirit
Geez - Menfes
Arabic - Ruh روح
Love
Geez - Fiqre
Arabic - Habun حب
Sun
Geez - Tsehaye
Arabic - Shams شمس
heck I do not know Arabic but if anyone does they can find 100 examples of language difference. Geez is a much more indigenous language and it is mixed too.

Arabic is the youngest Semitic language, it become an intercontinental language because of the expansion of Islamic religion. The invasion and forceful conversion of non-Arabic countries such Sudan, Egypt etc. helped the expansion of Arabic language, usually at the expense of the demise of other Semitic languages. The origin of Arabic language itself is believed to be Africa, interestingly. Now, the #1 Semitic language in terms of speaker is Arabic followed by Amharic.
Just a question, does anybody know any other twin languages in the world, as most similar as Amharic and Tigrigna?
