Did the survey ask the new entrants their reasons such as?
- Security reason
- Discrimination, harassment/bully, at school by staff , faculty, fellow students or outside by the community
- Poor housing/lodging, meal
-Poor academic standard
- Cost related to distance or tuition charge/cost sharing policies
- Poor program accreditation and competitiveness in the job market, especially employment in their later in their home state. ( I heard from a student graduated from Oromia unable to find job in his region alleging his credential is poor)

Also,

It would be more interesting to know the proportion students from Oromia region feeder high schools would like to flee to other regions.

Abiy Ahmed and Shimelis Abdissa tribalism is causing educational asylum seeking of more Oromo students into other regions. They were laughing when Amharas were displaced, now they are educational refugee themselves.

The top scorer of this year final Exam (666/700) is also from Amhara, Dessie high school

What a miracle, he escaped Shimelis Abdissa's genocidal squad and yet scored an extraordinary result on National School Leaving Examination.

I can imagine the Minstry of Education budget allocated to Oromia region was money thrown into dumpster - wasted for no or little return on investment.በትምህርት ልቆ ውጤት እንደ መስቀል፥ የኦነግን ጨርቅ ለመስቀል ግብግብ ላይ መክረም እንድህ ነው የሚያደርገው። The national budget and financial resource was lost in Oromiya to buy guns and militray weapon.

Will this shift and student out migration to Amhara region also followed by allocating greater financial resource to Amhara region universities and colleges? Also, how should Amhara region universities be prepared if extremist and brain washed OLF insects are mingling with other peaceful hardworking students coming into them?

Aberu,

Here you can rest your case, it is very unfortunate that we think to have a country. I am not defending Oromia region, it is all in the mess, it is very very unfortunate. We are a laughing stock of the 21st century for the rest of the world.

But don't act as if your region is any better. It too is a bul***t, a tragic situation.

I met someone recently accidentally and we exchanged some few words and I asked him what he is doing. The guy (a very young man, perhaps in his late 20s or early 30s) told me that he is unemployed, has no career, forced to drop out of a university of Gonder (Bahirdar), I am not sure any more which one it was, but a degree program in Engineering, because of harassment of the Amhara students, just because he is from Oromia. He had to escape.

I am not making it up. This is the sad situation we are in. We are made wild beast hunting on each other. The politics we are waging on the higher level has already touched the ground.

This is what we are in!

That is the reality!

You are inaccurately labeling me. I do not support one province over the other. Undivided Ethiopia is a home to every citizen in the land. A miseducated physician means a cause to dozens of medical malpractices on all Ethiopians, regardless of what tribe patients choose to see themselves. Based on the descriptive chart, I am wondering why more students avoided Universities located in Oromia region. Keeping all other things constant, in a normal and stable country this could be explained in terms that students tend to go universities that have better national standing, in relative terms. Are Amhara region Universities ranking high both nationally and in Africa? I do not know that we may have to research that or google it. Other than that like you said Higher education in Ethiopia is in a sorry state. This is because of the bad ethnic policy and system, primarily.

I don’t disagree. No region is going to be better than the other.
We have failed as a country and the politicians and academics are primarily to blame.

Liar,liar, liar...
Your tattered dirty pants are on hot fire
Your useless liar tongue is getting rusty like the old barbed wire!

Bullsh!t cheap talks! In Oromiyya they will learn how to become democrats, pluralists, give more and take less, egalitarian help others more than helping themselves like engineer Ayyana Birru who invented the first ever typewriter for the Amharaic language and his invention for the Amhara Amhara people to dvelope their language further.

On the contrary pathological hateful toxic nefetegna Amhara extremists try their best to destroy the beautiful and the much loved great Oromo language, afaan Oromo. The Oromo and Amhara peoples are friends and live together amicably, without any question being asked. Only some elements from all sides who lost their privileges due to the current ongoing change are causing intentional conflicts between the the two people.

This is actually indicative of what is to come with Ethiopian education and knowledge production system. So, long as ethnocracy remains as the organizing system of things፣ education to0 will become a system of getthos and mis education. That would apply to all killils። With respect to Oromo killil, its future is not only brain drain and out-flow of knowledge, it will continue to suffer opportunity drain, investor fleeing, out migration of creativity, innovation , and energy of the producing class.

Peace, security, order, civility are the gravitational forces pulling people of knowledge, ideas, capital, labor, workers into particular market place which we call economic community. No rational human being leave alone people of ideas, money, energy, creativity decides to invest in place called Oromia with a full knowledge and experience that any day, any group of local thugs backed by the government of the killil can/would kill you burn your property and expropriate you .

So, Oromia is not only losing bright students, and bright educators, it is losing all kinds of intelligent and productive people. Culture is powerful. If you possess a culture of peace and work ethic, if you possess a culture of legality and civility you become a magnet of growth and development.

Why are you not specific ? why is it elusive to so-called egalitarian oromos to pinpoint the main actors among you behind the ethnic cleansing of Amharas?

you are knowingly swimming in the dirty ,smelly pool of narrow political tribalism despite the glaring facts.
