There should be no pardoning for tplf. What kind of message are you trying to send? Tplf is guilty of the genocide of Amhara, Oromo, Somali and Gambella. It has wasted tigrayan youth to try and gain power in Addis. It has committed terrorism. Attacked neighbouring regions and country. The list goes on.....

There has to be ramifications for their crimes.

No sir, Abiy Ahmed just stated that TPLF will accept the constitution and rejoin PP party. End of story!

I doubt anyone has the appetite to deal with terrorist tplf. If he does that he is going to alienate people that supported him for terrorist tplf and end up becoming history.

What about those who are readying themselves to give a "big-shock" to the people of Tigray, to whom TPLF is also saying "they will wipe you from the face of the earth, in case we are not around to protect you"?

I am not someone who could defend TPLF in any way but truth also needs to be told, if we mean a serious business.

Well, if you missed it here is a sample of what has been vented in here too.

The group is hell-bent on toppling the current constitutional order and calls right and left to grab power by all means possible, not through the democratic means of transfer of power peacefully.

They simply don't accept the constitution because, they claim, it is a constitution of TPLF and OLF. It could be true but at the same time they are not ready to amend or change the constitution by a means of constitutional order or democratic means.

This camp is not less evil or dangerous if it gets its way for the future of the country than TPLF is.

Don't tell me you didn't happen to come across a sample of their vented ideas on this forum.

Exactly, ethnic apartheid is the philosophy of Adolph Hitler. This evil scheme was carried out by cleansing others and where groups of the victim are tortured, harassed and put in concentration camps and burnt alive. This happened in Ethiopia exactly in the so-called fake Oromia apartheid region. You to have call a spade a spade. Few years back, many concerned Ethiopians were fearing the coming of Rwanda style genocide, indicating the end of tribal federation is genocide. That fear happened more or less in Ethiopia, intuitive guess may put more than million Ethiopians were killed. The 30 years dirt OLF and TPLF dumped and imposed on innocent Ethiopians certainly needs a big shock like a dynamites explosion that levels off a huge mountain hill. The ethnic/tribal federation mountain of dirt's of hate, discriminations, genocide , displacement, injustice needs real big shocks to levels it off and on the debris of which normal society shall be built.

There we go. they are giving up on the impossible thing of disarming Woyane and try to convince us that woyanes have no weapons to surrender. If you won over woyane, you wouldn't go to SA for negotiation. Liar PP. You perfectly know what will happen if Shabia's heroic and battle hardened army is removed from the war, yes, your field marshal will out run Haile Gebresilassie all the way to Debirebrihan.

Btw, I don't think Taye Dendea is a product of woyane, but he is still Amhara hater.

Don't be surprise brother! The PM either doesn't have the stamina to fight it out to the end or it is the ideological unity of TPLF and OLF that is taking primacy here. TPLF will continue as TPLF and we all will pay the price.

What is being proposed here? That the TPLF gets a safe trip to exile? Well, if that ends this war; is that a bad thing?
I'm sure the generation before us was mad to see menge and his men flee, eritreans included, but that helped speed up the end of that war too.

We all want to see them facing accountability, BUT if they remain, or their presence in Tigray is what continues the war, then what?
You/we have to compare the costs of continuing the war against the costs of allowing them to flee into exile, if that ends the war?
Cost/benefit analysis.
Tigrayans then will have to decide, without the TPLF forcing them, to either continue the war, to their own/and our own detriment, or trying to find an amicable agreement to ending it. This stubborn continuation of the war will only harm everyone. I know my people well-Ethiopians and Horn of Africans in general see compromise as a weakness, we can be a stubborn people. Let's change that.

A lot of our fellow country-men and women, from both sides of this conflict, who are 1000's of miles away, are yelling to continue the war; but that's easy to do when it doesn't effect you personally. The fact of the matter is, Ethiopia as a poor country, cannot continue this way. Something has to give- and preferably, not the country/economy/govt as a whole.

It's worse. Pardoning tplf. And some are saying including tplf into the government. We all know full well tplf vermin is weak and on the verge of extinction. Including tplf in the government is rewarding them for all the heinous crimes they've committed and giving them another chance to regroup and attack another day.

Is that what he meant by ''pardon''? I assumed he meant, letting them flee into exile, to unfortunately enjoy their looted funds.
IF they include TPLF in the PP Govt, then without a doubt, some serious pressure was exerted on PM Abiy's govt, because they are not dumb; they know very well how Ethiopians & Eritreans would react to such a move. Words could not explain how disappointed and enraged we'd be, they know that too.
Time shall tell though. I am very interested in how this ''negotiation'' would go on--and what the results of it would be.

No one said that the constitution will be upended overnight, but your argument is more than constitutional order but a commitment to keep the weyane and OLF constitution on top of one of the largest subsections of the society Amharas. Look at your sentence "they claim, it is a constitution of TPLF and OLF. It could be true " while fully knowing the facts on the ground " as if you were born yesterday " you play with "could be " how genuine is that. Do you think no one deciphers what "cessation of hostilities and disarmament is no issue of negotiations, " the trial balloon by Taye tells what is in store for people most affected by this war " Amharas" Your concern is not about peace of justice but securing 4 kilo for century ?! instead of addressing the underline issue and resolve them you are riding defying the gravity about the constitution that was designed and created by Ethiopia enemies TPLF and OLF -- it seems you and your kind fight these groups not out of principle but because of fear they pose to the Oromo power center. The people who you are accusing "dangerous " ask nothing more than to be an equal citizen in a country called Ethiopia. You want Amharas only when they die to protect Oromos hold in Arat Killo , but when they ask to be treated equally not to be killed casually they became " dangerous" Your necked political cockiness is not going to take you far.

If you don't want the constitution in ''Amara land,'' why not go to Amara, mobilize and galvanize the people, and then have their own system of governance in THEIR land?

We Oromo's would not oppose whatever you wanna do in your state, but if you try to impose it on us, then say bye bye to Ethiopia; it's as simple as that. We want to rule our own lands, Oromo only ruling over Oromia; nothing less will suffice. Simple.As.That.

How true is it that it could be true when one of the leading chief architect of the constitution was an Amhara ex-Prime Minister named, Tamirat Layne?
