The Obelisk in Metera (During Belew Kelew-Pre Axumite Era), Shimezana and Qohaito Areas show inscriptions in Geez Letters, but could have been spoken in large parts of Eritrea and some part of Tigray although there is no obelisk type Geez Inscriptions discovered.

Geez is century old.

Eritrea was a baby of Italian imperial power.
There was no such thing called Eritrea before the Italians.
Eritrea was a European town during the Roman Empire.
There was a powerful Afar state in the region but not Eritrea.

Let’s leave the origin of Geez to archeologists & scholars because there is no concrete evidence so far where & when it exactly originated. The said Geez inscription was obviously found in the Kingdom of Daʿamat (ዳዓማት), whose territory included today’s Eritrea & Northern Ethiopia & its center was located in Yeha. There’s a lot of historical versions about the inhabitants of Daʿamat and their lineage to the subsequent kingdoms & the whereabouts of their descendants. So the phrase ‘Geez was invented in Eritrea’ is misleading and confusing. It’s like saying the word Behest originated in Germany, when in fact it’s a Germanic word and that’s how the etymology should be described.

ወዳጃችን Selam/ ጥሩ ጥያቄ ነው። ውቅር ፊደሎቹ የተጻፉበት ድንጋይ፡ “ኢምፖርትድ” እንዳልሆነ ኤርትራውያንና የውጪ ሃገር የሥነ ጥንት ተመራማሪዎቻችን ኣረጋግጠውታል። ውቅር ሃወልቱም ፊደላቱም የሚገኙት፡ ቅድመ- ኣኵሱም እንደሆነ በተረጋገጠው በ “መጠራ” ነው። መጠራ፡ የአሁኗ 'ኢትዮጵያ' ውስጥ ሳይሆን የኣሁኗ 'ኤርትራ' ውስጥ ነው የምትገኘው። ያኔ ወቃሪዎቹ ቅመ ኣያቶቻችን የተጠበቡት “ፊደሉን ወቅረው” ለኛ ማስተላለፍ ላይ የነበረ ይመስላል፡ ኤርትራም፡ ኢትዮጵያም መጠራም መለከትም “selam/”ም ብለው ኣልወቀሩም፡ እንዲያ ኣድርገው ከሆነ ተመራማሪዎቻችን ፈልፍለው እንደሚያገኙት እኛ ኤርትራውያን የመሃልና የመስመር ዳኞች ኣንጠራጠርም። በነገራችን ላይ የኋላ ኋላ የተወቀሩት የኣኵሱም ሃወልቶችም ይሁኑ የላሊበላ ውቅር ኣብያተ ክርስትያኖችም “ኢትዮጵያ” ወይም "Selam/" የሚል ቃል ድንጋይ ላይ ወቅረው ለተተኪው ትውልድ ኣስረክበው ከሆነ እስቲ ኣጋሩንና እኛም እንማርበት።

ማስተዋል የሚገባን ግን በወቅቱ በግእዙ ብቻ ይጽፉ ስለነበረ “ኤርትራ” ሳይሆን ‘አረተረ” “መለከት ሳይሆን “መለከተ” ብለው ሊጽፉ ቢፈልጉ ኑሮ ይጽፉ እንደነበረ ነው። “ኢትዮጵያ” ሳይሆን ‘አተየጸየ”፣ “selam/” ሳይሆን “ሰለመ” ብለውም መጻፍ ይችሉ እንደነበረ ነው ቢፈልጉ ኖሮ!

The Amharic alphabet alone is 5000 years old. And the name Ethiopia was given to us from the son of Melketsadik known as "Ethiop".

The Obelisk in Metera (During Belew Kelew-Pre Axumite Era), Shimezana and Qohaito Areas show inscriptions in Geez Letters, but could have been spoken in large parts of Eritrea and some part of Tigray although there is no obelisk type Geez Inscriptions discovered.
