This is half truth of what actually had happened. It is true TPLF always saw the relation with EPLF as Tactical; it sought EPLF support to develop and strengthen its military capacity then ultimately declare Greater Tigray ዓባይ ትግራይ. This was clearly stated in the TPLF Greater Tigray Manifesto of 1976 (ዝብኢ'ስ ስጋብ ዝድልደል ይሕንክስ).
Knowing TPLF's tactical relations with EPLF and its ultimate goal of declaring Greater Tigray, why did Isayas align with TPLF to get rid of Genuine Eritreans, the ELF, who were calling for complete unification of ELF and EPLF ?
The answer is simple. Isayas did not want the unification to succeed because if it did it would cost his power and even his life for the crimes he committed against the Eritreans fighters - Menake, Yemin and many others.
Fast forward to the 1992/3. Isayas supported the TPLF leadership to liquidate the Military Wing of OLF so that TPLF can have total power and reign over the entire Ethiopia without any resistance. What are you going to say about this?
The time for covering up Isayas adventures that lead to the destruction of Eritrea and to the eradication of the Eritrean People has long expired.

1. The ELF are not an innocent entity, like you're attempting to paint them here.
2. The EPLF's preferred partner was actually: the EPRP- not the TPLF.
3. EPLF- TPLF relations, were not always smooth & uncomplicated.

I am not painting that ELF leadership were innocent entity, but the ranks and files of ELF fighters were Innocent Eritreans who fought for Eritrea's Independence. There were corrupt and tribalists leadership in ELF as there were in the EPLF, but the worst of all leadership was the power hungry and power corrupt ሓሳድ ቡዳ Isayas the snake.
Majority Fighters from both sides of ELF and EPLF were for the unification of ELF and EPLF, but buda Isayas rejected it and aligned with TPLF to get rid of Genuine ELF fighters. Then Isayas handed Badme to TPLF for their services in 1982/3. This is a fact !!
Why was then Isayas aligned with TPLF to get rid of genuine ELF fighters if the relations between EPLF and TPLF were not smooth ?

The answer is also clear, Isayas does not care for Eritrea and the Eritrean People. He is after his own Glory and Power. This is what he says when he is intoxicated. Arrogant and Ungrateful for the Trust the Eritrean People afforded to him.

He truly believes deep inside that Eritrea's Independence is because of him totally disregarding the Eritrean People sacrifices, who did the fighting, who did the dying, who did the limping.
Truth be told during all the armed struggle period Isayas was comfortably seating in a very safe Area in Sahel contemplating how he would eradicate genuine Eritreans with Leadership Caliber who cared deeply for the Eritrean People.
All the suffering the Eritrean People are enduring now is because of ደመኛ ሓሳድ Isayas.
