It looks like PIA refused to attack from the North and that is the main reason for the confusion and the drastic changes.
Abiy Ahmed found out that PIA was just giving him lip service and when a push comes to a shove, PIA forgot all the bravado and is as quite as a church mouse.
But to his credit, he repeated the mantra of "game over", and he gave more specifics about the game, "Gebetha".
Both your points are valid. What I think happened is that, although the operation was set to begin which coincides with the US 🇺🇸 elections, the weyane preemptively disabled the Northern Command and confiscated those long range missiles and heavy weaponry. That changed the equation making both Issu and Abichu at a disadvantage early on.
Now that the swift conclusion anticipated has become obsolete, it's back to the drawing board for Issu and Abichu for a much longer operation yet to come. Issu has no choice but to play it safe and act like he was not aware; he just woke up and Saba told him what just happened etc.etc.

TPLF's refusal to hand in fugitives in its ranks, financing & arming ethnic strife, an illegal "election" in Tigray. No central/Federal govt. would tolerate & show maximum restraint, even appeasement in face of a rogue regional state bent on destabilizing Ethiopia for 2 yrs.

Aggamichie aka fandiya,
You sound like the jandereba bragging about somebody's shiliHo   . Issu knows better than to open his big mouth like you; he is a clever Agame and knows what his nemesis could do to his aszz if he gives them excuse. You see, he knows his fellow Tegaru and how they are; they did teach him a lesson a while back. He's tight-lipped right now afraid to the consequence

Absolutely not! The government faced unexpected and unsolicited surprise brutal attacks on the Ethiopian armed forces and civilian communities in which case the government is already organizing and reorganizing its human, material and spiritual resources so that Ethiopian will come to defeat the sinister and devious attackers who launched cold blooded murders and blatant killings of innocent Ethiopians. We support 100% the Ethiopian people, the Ethiopian government and the able Ethiopian Prime Minister. That sign of trouble you are talking about is only between your two deaf ears within the low IQ gray soft matter. BINGO!

This is a timely and very strategic reshuffle! Bravo, PM Abiy!

Changing horse in the middle of a race smells trouble. The PM must be in chock at this stage to do something like this

You just seat on your baboon red ar$$$ hole and recycle stinky coffee house gossips just to kill time while the LIONS are doing the right and the necessary jobs needing to be done.

Who wishes to fight must first count the cost
- Sun Tzu

TPLF's logistics routes, sealed in all directions. Fuel stocks, depleting fast. Troops mobility, will soon be limited. A sitting duck!

Who'se The All Party Parliamentary Group Eritrea (AAPG-Eritrea)?

Well, this is the anti-Eritrea group established in 2016 within the British Parliament. They are the driving force behind "regime change", using 'human rights' as a cover. I wouldn't be surprised at all, if they are behind the anti-Eritrea narrative in the UK mainstream media.

Members of the APPG:

- Matthew Pennycook MP (Labour, Greenwich and Woolwich)
- Baroness Kinnock of Holyhead (Labour)
- Lord Alton of Liverpool (Crossbench)
- Jeremy Lefroy MP (Conservative, Stafford)
- Ann Clwyd MP (Labour, Cynon Valley)

Guess, who is financed by AAPG Eritrea? A group called: "Eritrea Focus" (aka ይኣክል); which I believe includes Martin Plaut as one of its members.
