You make a point there. I recently met a man who called himself amhara because he speaks Amharic and worships at EoC but looks like ፉንጋ አገው and he was wailing he has no more a country because OPDO/OLF took it but his country was Ethiopia. I was amazed by that as I clearly felt some self calling “amhara” people believe Ethiopia is a land given to them by God like Israel was given their land by God through Abrham. They concocted stories wrote them placed the name of Ethiopia in the bible related rainbow seen by Noah with the the tricolor flag and considered Ethiopia as their እርስት. That is a dangerous thinking. Now many believe Fano will come to Addis and will liberate all other ethnics from the current misrule and introduce democracy because other ethnics could not do it. I just don’t buy that craap as everybody bleeds for power resource and advantage.
You said “Abiy is the true Ethiopianist. “. That is a lie. Knowing a true ethiopian leader is easy. It does not favor its ethnic or any special group. The person should stand for all ethnics equally. The person should stand for the nation not for ethnic. It should build democracy. It should work for peace. It should represent all citizens irrespective of origin. It should build institutions not a military power complex. Those are some of the axioms for a true Ethiopian leader. He is surrounded and advised by OLF relics and haters including Obo Yohannes leta, Kejela merdasa and hidden OLF Abdula Gemeda. Basically Abiy is using the same “Ethiopianist cover” to screw up the North and Gurage. የሴራ ስው ነው:: He refused to give Gurage a self administration which Jawar promised if he would come to power. I would be happy to support moderate Oromo like Lemma, a changed Jawar or Milkesa. I have no problem to respect and support principled respectfull moderate Amhara too.
I am pretty independent and support none untill some one with true Ethiopian/union-not ethnic hegemony is in place which I doubt will will happen soon or in decades.
Fano is purely an Amhara organization planing to prop up,it appears, another lion of Juda concept, perhaps another ነፍጠኛ regime to which non-amhara should never sign into untill it is acknowledged or become a stake holder and respected in the movement. For now I enjoy my freedom and free will

You have a serious problem reading the real ethnographic layout of Ethiopia. I do not blame you, because that is what you have been fed by TPLF, OLF, and even the Derg before. Every country on planet Earth has a national culture shared by its citizens across boundaries (administrative, religious, or linguistic), and Ethiopia is no exception. So, there is no doubt that Amharic will remain the national culture of Ethiopia, whether you like it or not. This is based on objective reality, not on wishful thinking.

The distortion in you and others like you (particularly some ethnic minority activists) is because of the fake statistics produced by TPLF and even the Derg. In reality, the Amhara account for the largest percentage of Ethiopia’s population; they are a statistical majority, as a result of which their language and influence have objectively been nationally influential. To tamper with this reality, TPLF performed statistical genocide on paper. But things on the ground read differently. There is no other language or culture that will evolve to become a national one like Amharic—no matter how much propaganda, ill will, and hatred individual activists hold. It is simply a reality. Amhara culture is accommodative and better suited to integrating other useful cultural traits.

Ethiopians have no time to pause and wait for 1,000 years for some other language to evolve from scratch or from a less advanced language in terms of modern vocabulary to satisfy your irrational need. Ethiopians need bread and clean water right away. Remember the Gurage woman who was shot point-blank by Abiy Ahmed’s army while carrying a water pot and asking for water for her thirsty family. She did not have a language problem communicating with Abiy Ahmed; the issue was different.

Abere steered the duscussion to a power struggle between ethnically unorganized and unarmed Gurage and ethnically orgnanized and armed Amara. He has made peace with the most dangerous armed groups to Amara, the Tigreys, Oromos, Somalis, Afars, Sidama. Only cowards attack unarmed groups and individuals. And shows hopelessness to battle the armed groups above except to accept the reality of defeat and work with them on equal footings.

The Tigrey and Eritreans, the Axumites, who created Amara look down on them.They detest their cultural values as repulsive. This resentment and disgust about their values is common all across southwest, southeast and south Ethiopia. They are made aware and definitely they know it.
