Before just few years, there were sizable Ethiopian opinion leaders, who earnestly believed Eritrea is not much an enemy, even among those who didn't flock into the tiny country to wage "a war of liberation" in their respective constituencies.

Now everything has completely flipped over and almost every opinion is against the entity calling itself Eritrea, which they considered challenged the very sovereignty of Ethiopia.

Bottom line: if Ethiopia is not sovereign, then certainly Eritrea will never be a sovereign entity. Ethiopia is determined to defend her sovereignty, by any means possible.

It is also no a secret that Eritrea is an entity that is an impediment against Ethiopia's sovereignty, effectively forcing Ethiopia to crash over the impediment in pursuit of her own sovereignty.
