Tigray fighters enter Ethiopia’s Afar region, stoking fears of new conflict

Ethiopia’s Afar region has accused forces from neighbouring Tigray of crossing into its territory, seizing several villages and attacking civilians, in what it called a breach of the 2022 peace deal that ended the war in northern Ethiopia.

Between 2020 and 2022, Tigray was the centre of a devastating two-year war that pitted the Tigray People’s Liberation Front (TPLF) against Ethiopia’s federal army and left at least 600,000 people dead, according to the African Union.

This is the consequence of bad decisions in 2022.
ENDF had the opportunity to dismantle the TPLF and restructure Tigray. We all know what happened and what the PP’s priorities were.

The Amharas and FANO have to stay away from this war. Let them fight it out. FANO has to focus on the task at hand.

Correct, let TDF and OPDO battle it out. But we all know the outcome. OPDO will run leaving 15k POWs and excusing itself by saying "We are leaving Afar for the farmers to be able to farm"

Funny OPDO-PP were lying to us that TPLF/TDF gave its heavy weapons to ENDF. Their hope was for TPLF to conduct joint operation with ENDF against Amhara FANO. It didn't work. By the way Eritrean forces were also invited on this evil project. They said NO baby. OPDO-PP now sings sea access all day everyday to rectify its childish mistakes and gain people's trust.
