Tigrinya is becoming too ubiquitous, rivalling Amharic on this forum

What is going on? Is Amharic losing status by an undeveloped language just north of it? How old is Tigrinya. I know Amharic was birthed in the 9th century A.D., somewhere in Lasta.
Is Amharic losing status to Tigrinya, not Oromoffa?
