As part and parcel of the periodic forums of bilateral consultation, President Isaias Afwerki met, yesterday evening at the Denden Guest House, Egyptian Delegation led by Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty.
The extensive discussions focussed on further consolidation of the ties of cooperation between the two countries as well as regional - Horn of Africa and Red Sea - issues of mutual importance.
Themes addressed in greater depth include: the quest for an expeditious and peaceful solution to the conflict in the Sudan; endeavours underway on nation-building in Somalia; as well as challenges of peace and security in the Horn of Africa and Red Sea Regions.
In a brief statement to the Eritrean News Agency, Foreign Minister Dr. Badr Abdelatty stated that the periodic consultations are aimed at cultivating common positions on vital matters of regional security and stability.
