Jawar knew from the get-go that Abiy Ahmed was cut from the same cloth as his TPLF mentors--- a treacherous mercenary who thrives in the back-stabbing and betrayal of those whose backs and shoulders he stepped on to ascend to power.

I have long suspected that Abiy Ahmed murdered Hachalu Hundessa to blame Jawar for the artists' death in an effort to discredit him in the eyes of the Oromo youth whom he held a significant influence, and still does.

And while the marriage was performed the General Register was very active, taking the central stage, ceremonially decorating and giving the maximum accolade to the pairs.

It is rumored that Abiy, before coming to power, had reached a secret deal with the TPLF to dismember Ethiopia into several ethnic enclaves, with Oromia and Tigray both seceding from Ethiopia and forming a united front to invade and conquer Eritrea, in which Tigray Republic would annex the Massawa port, while Oromia Republic grabs the Assab port.

The Neo-colonial powers in control of Ethiopia also put their stamp of approval on this plan which they thought would kill Eritrea's sphere of influence in the Horn of Africa region in general, and the African continent in particular.

But something went terribly wrong when the plot was discovered by Eritrea that it skillfully used the situation to its own advantage by completely annihilating the TPLF mercenary forces and put the Abiy regime between a rock and hard place. Soon, the TPLF and the Abiy regime started pointing fingers at each other for their plan's failure, creating further distrust between them.

The Neo-colonial powers were also alarmed by the crisis unfolding in Ethiopia that they dispatched their envoys to the region hoping to give the plotters a second chance and revive their wicked plan by signing the Pretoria agreement. But it was too little, too late.
