People used exchange money in every corner in the street, not only in Somaliland but all Somalia. But nowadays, you won't see anyone exchanging money on the street across Somalia, as mobile payments have replaced cash payments, becoming a common way to make payments in Somalia. There's no central bank in Somaliland, by the way. A bank doesn't necessarily become a central bank by calling it a central bank. Like all countries in the world, Somalia can only have one central bank, and it's in Mogadishu.

Apart from Al Shabab, Somalia is a very safe country.
