The E.P.L.F, as a liberation front, they were under no obligation to adhere to the Geneva convention on Prisoners of War, however they treated Ethiopian prisoners of war humanely in line with their culture of unconditional kindness and generosity, which attests to the fact that they were acting as a self-respecting government way before they had achieved their hard-won independence. Impressive!
