(1) Problem: Tigray political crises has reached to dead end and an immediate way out is mandatory!


(2) Solution:

Tigray political crises should be taken as an opportunity to democratize Tigray! But the existing temporary government has to hand over its power to a provisional/ transition government that should be immediately established by the Tigray Security Forces as detailed below:



- Tigray Security Forces have to stay neutral but have to establish a provisional/transition government to prepare election within the next six months , while implementing the Pretoria Agreement . The Pretoria Agreement to be revised accordingly.
- Getachew to hand over his power to the provisional/ transition government
- Getachew & his followers including General Tsadikan to establish TPLF2 under different name & brand
- TPLF, TPLF2 & all other competitive political forces to compete as different & independent parties after six months
- Who ever wins the election to establish permanent government

(3) Advantages of proposed solution;

- Concern of all stakeholders including the Tigray People and the Ethiopian government are addressed( win-win)
- Peaceful way out for the existing risky & toxic political crises
- Tigray problem is solved in a democratic and peaceful manner!
- Foundation laid for future full democratization of Tigray

(4) Risks :The Provisional/ Transition government may try to prolong its stay in power.

That risk could be mitigated by the establishment of civilian counsel( from prominent Tigrayan personalities( not an active member of any party or the Tigray security ) from Tigray, Ethiopia & diaspora) with the coordination of the current temporary government and participation of all political parties, which oversee the the provisional government including issuing binding regulations that limit its stay in power for only six months. Members of the provisional government has to selected based on their commitment for the six months stay in power.

I agree on that and I recommended them many time even last week. Dissolve all parties and TDF take over and bring from all parties educated people, civil organizations to form a true transitional government and let them lead for one year. Draft constitution by Tigrayan scholars everyone to know their limits and let the constitution guide them. Once set up all the things then conduct election for president and congress and that is the true unity no Diqalu or qushet mongering by anyone to be above the constitution and let the court system across Tigray govern us.
