My condolences to the families of Amaya Oromos who fell victim to terrorists. In Gurage folklore names like Amaya, Adiya, Agaro, Shewa, Jimma, Gondar are heard by all children. Very popular names but would not tell us where they were located.
I can confirm, as a Gurage activist, that Fano has not established an armed group in Gurage. I would know. Amaya would not be their priority. There are more pressing issues closer to home. The assassins in Mesqan and Welkite.
As Prof Pagan Horus said many times, Gurage vowed to never arm itself to fight Ethiopian oppressions nor fight any other Ethnic groups. But that its fight is only legal and peaceful such as sending letters of Gurage intellectuals and unanimous vote for demanding the creation of the Gurage Region. Boringly reiterating that Gurages are Ethiopia's Mahatma Gandhi of India and MLK of the USA.
If at all Gurage will arm itself and fight, it will be against its own children who protest the oppressions of Kid Abiy Ahmed Hussien.
