Eritreans are not only the Tigrinya speakers besides it isnt the Eritrean Tigrigna that are confused they got it right they are Tigrinya people they speak Tigrinya named after their language , U on the other hand u are A Tigrayan u named ur self after ur province in Ethiopia which is called Tigray. Eritreans who are of Tigrinya descent are confident to call themselves Tigrinyan people or Tigrigna people there is no confusion what so ever there.

Here is a good comparision the country called Belgium is divided between Flemish Dutch speaking Flemish people from Belgium they are called after their region Flaanderen with in Belgium similar like tigray they called themselves after their province Their language is related or is the same as the main dutch people of the Netherlands in particular the Brabant people. Though the Dutch view their country the netherlands as a sort of nationality in a sense of country identity and they dont consider the Flemish Dutch People.
