Back then, derg was hated by all Ethiopians particularly by the farmers. So Amara farmers joined Amara military to fight the derg. Colonel Mohaba, Colonel Demeke, general Asaminew, gener Tefera, even women fighters like Eriste, and thousends after thousands more joined the Amara forces due the their experience of abuse by stupid derg and it's ain't Christ stance
And the common people accepted the warriors as they marched south because they were one of them - Amara. That is why the Amara General said they never seen shabia soldiers inside Ethiopia fighting the derg. Our generals are honest, they don't lie like ascaris.
