The two chronic problems of Ethiopia & their solutions:

Post by Axumezana » 30 Mar 2024, 12:03

1. lnternal problem

Lack of democracy is the most chronic internal problem that has been exploited by our strategic enemies mainly Egypt and it's allies. In addition the continuous internal instability, conflict, blood shed , destruction and corruption are caused by lack of accountable governments established and timely replaced based on peaceful democratic process.

2. External problem

Ethiopia sits on one of the most strategic and volatile geopolitical regions of the world and external forces affect the internal stability of the country. World & regional powers are in a continuous tussle and competition to get the upper hand in the Horn Africa and the Middle East. In addition Ethiopia being the gate way to Africa the global powers want to position themselves both in Ethiopia and the region. Last but not least, Ethiopia being the source of water for Egypt and most of its immediate neighbors also makes it a target of intervention and sabotage to prevent it from using its water resources. Among the regional powers that try to control the Horn of Africa and Ethiopia are Egypt, Turkey and Iran . All these three counties have been historically the enemies of Ethiopia , specially Egypt that has been trying to plant its puppet governments in Ethiopia and among its neighbors such as Somalia, Eritrea, Sudan , South Sudan and Djibouti.

The way forward :

- Democracy is not a choice but a necessity for Ethiopia for its stability peaceful survival and future success.
- Ethiopia has to come up with a competitive strategy that shall enable it to be the undisputed regional power and leader in the Horn of Africa. Egypt's effort to establish puppet governments in Ethiopia and within our immediate neighbors has to be foiled and controlled
- Ethiopia should have a security alliance with the USA, Israel and their allies but a multilateral economic agreements with all global and regional powers.
- Egypt as the most strategic rival of Ethiopia should not be allowed to have foot hold within and our immediate neighbours, specially Eritrea that has been effectively used as a proxy war front by Egypt. The Ethiopian government has to establish political, military, social and military relations with it's immediate neighbours to counter Egypt. Ethiopia could also infulence the internal politics of Egypt using the historic and religious relationship among the Ethiopian and the Egyptian people. Ethiopia should have a transparent commercial driven water supply agreement with all its neighbors( including Egypt) and use water as a carrot and stick tool against Egypt.
