Abiye waters down Somaliland deal after international pressure
After world wide pressure and possibility of sanctions if war erupts between Ethiopia and Somalia . Abiye will now only set up an assessment team to assess visibility for Somaliland recognition. This will happen only after sea land is obtained. Somalilandis disappointed and now looks to withdraw as they believe this move by Ethiopia will further harm their chances of recognition.

Abiy is desperate he really needs this to be done , same goes to somaliland president his term will expire in 10 months. He wants to bring recognition because he didn't perform well in the war of laascaanood. Both guys are desperate for victory to please their peaple. I believe they are very determined .
Somaliland won't sign anything for Ethiopia before recogtion. Our case doesn't need assesment it's already assessed by the AU fact finding mission who made an assessment in 2014. We have very strong legal case , we can even prove that somaliland never joined Somalia legally. The act of Union was not ratified, our peaple overwhelming ly voted against the Union in the referendum of 1961.
