AgameEzana, You May Cry all You Want, but Welketot Who Used to Say ሰብ ድዩ መይቱ ትግራዋይ Will Never Be Chigrayans
Before 1991, Welketot used to despise Tigrayans who went to Welkayt as beggars, prostitutes or day laborers. If a poor Agame died, which was a common thing, the proud Welketot used to ask "ሰብ ድዩ መይቱ ትግራዋይ" (ሰው ነው የሞተው ትግራዋይ). Of course, Agames hated Welketot and when they got a lottery and came to power in Ethiopia, they avenged themselves by committing genocide in Welkayt for 27 years. They settled hundreds of thousands of Agames in the fertile plains. When the TPLF thugs started war and began to lose, all Agame settlers in Welkayt/Humera fled either to the Sudan or back to their homelands in Tigray. They knew what their crimes were and were scared that Welketot would take their vengeance. The idea that the settler Agames will now go back is ludicrous indeed!
