በአማራ ክልል ና በኦሮሚያ ክልል ያሉት ዩኒቨርሲቶዎች ለብዙ ሰዎች የክብር ዶክተሬት በገፍ እያደሉ ነዉ። ይህ እኔን (ዶክተር ያልሆነን ሰዉ) አስቅንቶኝ ሳይሆን፣ ነገሩ የፉክክር ስለመሰለኝ ነዉ።

እኔ ከማን ኣንሼ የምሉ ይመስላሉ።

በተጨማሪም ደግሞ ሁለቱም ክልሎች ክብሩን የምሰጡት ሰዉ ከራሳቸዉ ክልል ጋር ግንኙነት ያላቸዉን እየመረጡ ይመስላል።

ይህ ከሆነ ደግሞ የአካደምክ እዉዱም በጎሰኝነት ጥግ ቆሞ የእዉቅትን ድንበር የለሽነትን ተልዕኮ የምሸረሽር ይመስለኛል። ዩንቨርሲቲ እዉቀትን ላማስፋፋት እንጂ ድንበርን ለማበጀት አልተፈጠረም፣ በእኔዉ ዶክተር በልሆነዉ ሰዉ አስታያየት።

Generally, it appears Ethiopia is almost facing credential inflation, just like its currency Birr. There is a devaluation of credentials for a number of reasons. The increasing number of domestic diploma mill institutions and online credential procurement are the leading reasons. Credentials are required for social reputations, not with merits to equip one with applied skill and problem solving. That is what is happening in Ethiopia. Added on this, non-academically honor degrees awarded to those who have closer ties with political institution makes it worse - in the eyes of the public it loses its meaning and worth. I think some of those who undeservedly received should be revoked. The institutions granting such awards instead of building their images are hurting their own images.
