National Reformation Commission Commissioner Ambassador Teshome Toga announced that the disarming and rehabilitation of former fighters will continue in a strong manner.
The commissioner has discussed with the Tigray regional state temporary administration officials on the pace of rehabilitation of former fighters.
Following the peace agreement reached between the government and TPLF, sustainable peace and rehabilitation work is underway in the area.
The National Reformation Commission has been established and the work of disarming the former armed forces is in progress.
The commissioner who stated that the process is going well so far, mentioned that they have reached an agreement with the Tigray Regional State Temporary Administration on how to speed up the remaining works.
The commission has announced that it will open a branch in Mekelle to help it coordinate future works.
Tigray Regional State Temporary Administration President Getachew Reda has mentioned that the implementation is in good condition after the peace agreement reached with the government.
He mentioned that the work to be done with the National Reformation Commission has been done through communication and understanding. He said that he has discussed on a way to speed up the remaining work.
According to the peace agreement, the work done so far has been effective and the work to speed up the remaining work will continue.
The National Reformation Commission Brigadier General Derbe Mekuria has collected heavy metals and air force weapons according to the agreement and handed over to the air force.
Starting from next Monday, the former armed forces will be organized and assembled in a suitable way.
