In Hamassien( which includes Asmara and its surroundings) where my parents hail from the situation is even worse. The government is dispossessing my people of their lands and giving it to others including Tigrayan muslim illegal settlers. The special relationsip between the Tigrayan muslim settlers and the ruling party raises many questions. We do not know why the government asks from us the 2% tax ( which we accept as our national duty ) and demands that our men and women do their national duty ( which we accept ) and in return we get our lands dispossessed. Very strange indeed. To make things worse the government supporters and their propaganda machine talk about how ethnic relations in the countries neighbouring Eritrea are bad while everything at home is hunky-dory !

The house where I was born was taken by the government without the permission of my parents and now the government is after my ancestral lands in Asmara and its surroundings. We have also a lot of disabled losers.
