Is peace in capitulation as the only option ?

Post by Roha » 02 Nov 2022, 20:03

War is a messy business. This has been seen several times in the history of the Horn of Africa.
War becomes a messy business if the political leaders do not do their jobs and rush to war.
Rushing to war in Nov 2021 by the Tigrayan TPLF political leaders was the source of this mess,
that has ended today in capitulation and accepting all the Ethiopian government demands
without any preconditions or any ifs and buts, short of waving the white flag.
In the Ethio- Eritrea war of 2000, Issaias lost the war in the battlefield, but he won it diplomatically
and in the court of law by going to Algeria. Unfortunately, in 2022 the Tigrayan TPLF neither won the
battlefield nor the diplomatic negotiation in South Africa.
The lesson that many political leaders learn too late is starting unnecessary wars as the TPLF leaders did, Putin repeated, Sadam Husien did, Ziad Bare did, Naser did, Imperial Japan did, Hitler did .... This is written everywhere but many leaders fail to read history carefully.
So, for the sake of peace, political leaders need to amend their mistakes by accepting peace in capitulation.
This also requires courage. But the courage we need to demand is that leaders need to accept mistakes and hand power to the next generation.

Sajid Khan calls the South African agreement: agreement of capitulation, short of white flag waving.
