Will it work? But certainly TPLF had many more cards to play and it looks like these things is being drafted as we speak.
As TPLF gets weakened, we will hear more of "our amhara brothers" verses and songs.

It is an old political trick - one is called dividing your enemies; the other is calling having your enemies fight each other and the other is forming tactical alliances. Tigrays can't overcome the combined forces of Oromara. Hence, TPLF must fan the contradiction between Amara and Oromo. This is the Tigremara tactic. Still, until Tigrays are locked in 'Amara main enemy' TPLF story, the war will remain between Tigray and Amara. That is right. Amara and almost all other Ethiopians do not want hear from the evil tplf as well as PP now. Tplf is no where close to having the potential to systematically force the fake unity between Amara and Tigray under its leadership as opdo did to remove tplf.
Amara is organized better now. Amara know the removal of tplf is the ultimate guaranty for peace in the region. For tplf to have the slitest apportunity to get Amara to consider working with tplf the leadership must be gone. New tigray party must be formed. PP of course does want that. PP want tplf to lurk around thinking it will keep Amara busy at north. But the dilemma PP faces is tplf will never be strong enough to challenge Amara, tplf will be forced to leave Raya and live with the fear that tigreans will rise up which will eventually go back to hunt PP itself. PP is a dead meat as well as tplf! Like you said the loser is PP on this war.

You say ''played,'' because you want to see Oromo's and Tigrayan's, do what you're accusing OPDO/Oromo's of doing, which is making two potential foes fight each other to exhaustion, then you can ''easily'' sneak your preferred political party, movement, or individual into Menelik's Palace.
The fact is, the Tigrayan elites would have never ruled for even two years, without the cooperation of Amara and Oromo elites.
Their long rule is because of the weakness of these two groups political elites- the Oromo and Amara, it's as simple as that.
Regardless of the disagreements and some mistrust between the Oromo and Amara politically, there's no way they should've accepted to be subservient to the TPLF. That was the past, of course, we cannot change it, but can take lessons from it.
Now, they are accusing Oromo's of trying to dominate the state, similar to how the TPLF did, so their solution is for the Amara to help the TPLF come back to power, by fighting on their side, or at least being neutral and indifferent as they march past Amara state to get to Addis Ababa.
Then, as some of their own agame cadres here say, it'll be EPRDF 2, with a new Amara puppet party, a New Oromo puppet party, a new Somali puppet party, and others, who will serve tplf elites once again.
But the good thing is, it won't happen, because Oromo's chased tplf away alone, before, and can do it again, but this time, it'll result in an even stronger OLA when it takes the entire Oromia, the weapons of the endf in oromia, and tens of thousands of oromo police, soldiers, etc, defect to OLA.
Checkmate.
