DDT,
The economy grow 20%. TPLF is decimated to Ashes. Ethiopia is exporting oil.
Find a better deceptive propaganda phrase so that you will not be embarrassed.

During TPLF's 27 years of ethnic apartheid rule, the Neo-colonial powers did not allow Ethiopia to produce wheat for its own consumption, because it would have put the food-aid farmers in Idaho, Iowa, and Washington states out of business. The job security of a handful farmers in the West was far more important than Ethiopia's ability to feed itself. The Tigray that are known to consume lies, and regurgitate lies, were perfectly OK with such unfair arrangement so long as the Western media create the illusion of economic growth for Ethiopia, when there was none.

Abdisa summarized it well. He wrote “ the job security of handful farmers in the West was far more important[ to US] than Ethiopia’s ability to feed itself.” Absolutely correct. That brings us to the topic why the US really was in bed with TPLF. The West particularly US was in position to dictate TPLF’s every move.
I am not saying the US has no any influence of the current Ethiopian government. Not at all. Still does. But the government is showing an intense interest that to not be the case in the future.
The government plans to be self- sufficient in wheat production might pave the way to create an Ethiopia that does not seek the West’s handouts. I applaud the we-can-do attitude the government tries to impart to its citizens.
