From "ውግያው ኣልቋል" to Begging for Food Aid Within a Space of Weeks is a Most Devastating Turnabout

What the Agames suffered in the last five months is probably unique in history. From expecting to march to Addis to begging for food can be nothing but psychologically devastating to that brittle Agame mind. I doubt if they will recover the humiliation of it all. Agames have a habit of building castles in the sky. No one can doubt their incredible ability to fantasize. We saw their leaders announce boldly that the war was over. And then came the crush. A most disorganized and costly retreat of 700 kms within a week has never been heard of for a people who thought they were on the verge of a spectacular reentry into Addis and the riches to be looted there. Worse, their descent into utter bankruptcy and beggary is remarkable. Yes, they will remember the fall or 2021 for generations to come. Wounds like that don't heal easily!
