Ambassador Ron McMullen: "Ethnic Federalism Doesn't Work In Ethiopia"

Post by Horus » 04 Jan 2022, 21:45

THANK YOU !!!

"The lesson we should learn from the Tigray War is that ethnic federalism doesn’t work. Ethiopia, like the U.S., is a federal system.

Our states are based on geography, but Ethiopia’s are based largely on ethnic identity, with each major ethnic group having its own regional state. Under Ethiopia’s constitution, states even have the right to secede."

All he did was deliver the false narrative of the war sandwiched between the things you like to hear. You can't just cherry-pick one sentence from the entire article by omitting the mountain of lies. If he was looking for a Gotcha moment with the article, then, sadly, he got one.

The world is filled up billion and trillions of bites of information, most of which false and made up and I am essentially interested in what I want to hear which is what I consider to be true - that is my sole interest . The fact that ethnic federalism has failed to work is an irrefutable fact. I am not interested in McMullen's perceptions of all the other stuff which are his own mental contents.

For years we have been saying that, the ethnic federalism arrangement the Neo-colonialists had prescribed for Ethiopia and which was executed by their TPLF slaves, was a catalyst for the country's fragmentation into several ethnic based mini states, in the same manner as in the former Yugoslavia and the former U.S.S.R.

McMullen didn't say anything we don't know, but for some his comments may sound like an apology for the very thing he once supported before he found it politically convenient to be against. As a veteran of the diplomatic world, especially as someone who had served in our part of the world, it's not that difficult to guess the target audience he had in mind when he put ink to paper.
