The Agame mental contortions to explain their devastating defeat would be very funny if it wasn't for the gruesome pictures one sees of thousands of Tigrayans burned alive. At first, Wedi Werede described it in lofty military tones as "one step backward, two steps forward". It was a redeployment (ምትዕርራይ). The objective to march to Addis had still not changed, they were just marching one step backward for a two-step leap. But when the one-step backward turned into thousands of steps backward with thousands of dead bodies left behind, claiming redeployment became a joke. The retreat was like the movement of a robot with a damaged controller. ቦቀለ will forever define the Agame retreat of going to Bole while running to Meqele.
Then Agames came with a bizarre claim, that the retreat (no more redeployment) was an agreed operation meant to save Abiy's face. But the Agame mind could not explain the tens of thousands of Agames who were perishing while this "agreed upon withdrawal" was going on. Perhaps it was part of the agreement to save Abiy's face to sacrifice all the Agames to make it look real. God, these people are mentally damaged.
And now that there is no agreed withdrawal, Agames are claiming that their defeat is a conciliatory move to facilitate negotiations. And they are asking outsiders to intervene and save them.
Such mental calisthenics to explain what is plainly a devastating defeat is why we say that the Agame mind is a foocked-up mind.
