The logic of Eritrean army atrocities in Tigray

Post by Cartmann » 24 Jul 2021, 19:48

There was constant element on all statements made by the EU, the US, and G7. That was Eritrean army must withdraw from Tigray. To heap the pressure, they had to invent endless nonexistent atrocities allegedly committed by Eritrean soldiers. Many of the alleged atrocities were hard to believe given the discipline of the Eritrean army. There is only one reason why the West demanded for the withdrawal of the Eritrean army. That is because they knew Eritrean army had TPLF by its balls. The balance of power must be shifted so that Abiy would be forced to negotiate. Eritrea was key for shifting the balance, because the federal army already deprived of 80% of its arsenal was sitting duck. They knew if Eritrean army withdrew, the already weakened Ethiopian federal army will be stretched throughout Ethiopia and at the border with Sudan. The West rightly calculated that the withdrawal of Eritrea will ensure the rear of Adwa's TPLF would be safe, allowing them to operate without any danger from Eritrea which kept them in check. The role of the Eritrean army is glaring for everyone to see. Once it had withdrawn, the Adwa's TPLF militias got out of their caves and they are creating mess. Abiy succumbed to the pressure of the West and demanded Eritrea's withdrawal. The result is exactly as the West calculated.

Unfortunately, many Ethiopians didn't realize the critical role of Eritrean army and intention of the West. Many Ethiopian's failed to appreciate Eritrea and went on the bandwagon of atrocities propaganda. They didn’t even realize how weakened the federal army was. They started criticizing Eritrea and demanding withdrawal. They even accused Abiy that he used foreign country's army to invade his own country. Although many Ethiopians still appreciate Eritrea's role, it is time that all genuine Ethiopians appreciate it. Time is a witness.

By the way it is no coincidence that the Adwa's TPLF do not utter even a word to threaten Eritrea. They are very careful not to provoke as the know any provocation entails full swing, and they don't want that. For now, since the war is morphing to ethnic war, Eritrea should stay away from any involvement. As far as I am concerned Eritrea has already achieved its goal. Sadly, after all the sacrifice they did, the Amhara’s are now not getting the help they deserve.
All Hail the Eritrean army!!
