Amara are the Gypsy of Africa - They have no root in Ethiopia

Post by EthioRedSea » 13 Jul 2021, 09:02

We have been asking where the Amhara came from. Some said they are from Yemen like the Tigrayans. However, they have little emotional connection with semetic people. Some say they came from West Africa as Bantu migrants during the Great Bantu Expansion around 11th Century, which seems plausible.

The Amhara usurped power from Tigray and Agew in 13th Century and called themselves as restorers of the Solomonic Dynasty. The Solominc Dynasty was interrupted by the invasion of The Beja Tribe and Tigre nomads led by Yodit. Yodit destroyed churches and killed any one with Aksumite Royal lineage. After Yodit, came the Agews who are related to Beja and Billen tribes in Sudan and central africa. The Amhara were able to overthrow the Agew rulers in Lalibella. The Agews were Christians and built Lalibella Rock Hewn Churches.

Thus the Amhara are migrants from other parts of Africa with no roots in Ethiopia.
