Local journalists from private and public media were invited to the PM office and PM Abiy thanked them for their service and reporting during the election. No camera and smartphone were allowed. He then started to talk about Tigray and why he decided to withdraw. He said ENDF has withdrawn every heavy weaponry from Tigray. He said our troops can't continue in Tigray forever without the backing of the people of Tigray. Now it is up to tigreans to deal with their internal issues. He also said the federal government never intended to control Mekele and administer Tigray, it was forced upon it by the attack of TPLF on the northern command.

He said the Tigray budget is 8 billion birr but the federal government has spent over 100 billion birr but the people of tigray are not understanding and supporting the efforts of the federal government that is why it is useless to stay there longer. He said people in other regions are suffering due to the cost of living and burden and the government wants to divert resources back to other regions. He also said that the government has more important issues of developing the country than being bogged down in Tigray for years like Derg. He said we will not repeat the foolishness of Derg for nothing. He seems very confident and told them not to worry about Amhara or any military adventure from TPLF and said that there is nothing in Tigray and everything is in our hands when it comes to military hardware. He said TDF heard our withdrawal from the media and changed their cloths and acted like heroes

He also said that the western governments that were crying foul and were demanding troops withdrawal were calling him the whole night and were mad that he pulled out the troops. He told them this is no more a federal issue. Tigreans should handle their internal matters themselves from now on. He said western countries have blocked the bank accounts of the government and were not even allowing to use the money to buy wheat for the needy.

PM Abiy also told journalists that even though the election results are not released but from the information he got from local polling stations that put out their results the election is not going as he expected. He said we have hopped to have at least a mixed parliament where opposition and ruling parties debate but he fears we will be left with as he described "the same old same old" parliament which he don't like. That is somehow disappointing and not good for democracy.

This is face saving facade!

We saw the Ethiopian armed forces withdrawn from Tigray was not orderly as the PM is expecting us to believe, we also saw the moral of the armed forces were no where it is needed to be to defend the country. They were easily captured instead to fight for the bitter end as we might expect from professional army.

The solution is to have all amhara soldiers in the north to defend their home..Only soldiers who have something to lose fight to the bitter end.

Like I said million times in this forum. Having a mosaic of a country which is made of many ethnic groups is a curse and not a blessing, you can't have proper democracy because your aspiration and vision is different, and you can't have a lethal army because soldiers have different reason to fight to the bitter end.

Deqi-Arawit, there are two possible scenarios. The one that you are saying and the one that say ENDF has withdrawn. People are of course drawn to one of them and believe based on many factors including their prejudice they have.

For me there is one real test to check which scenario is really true. The test is simple. If TDF really won the war and ENDF left because of TDF military victory then TDF will never ever stop without getting back wolkait and raya. Especially wolkait is very crucial because it will be the life line and supply line of TDF. That is the test for me to check which story is really true.

Two things are impossible. One that TDF won the war but is not trying to take over wolkait. That is BS and second ENDF left willingly Tigray but TDF controlled wolkait, that is also BS. These two are BS. Either TDF won and also tries to take over wolkait or ENDF pulled out its troops and TDF never won the war and is not capable of launching an attack on wolkait.

Wolkait is the test for our scenarios. Let's not be taken by our emotions and prejudice but wait and see how the next days and weeks are unfolding.

Without Welkayt Semien Ez doesn’t exist. And Ethiopia no longer borders Eritreas heartland. That closes and ties with massawa only leaving Assab in the Dessert of Afar only viable
