If economic sanctions is all Ethiopia punished by, that is good and dandy. But, I have a feeling something worse will follow. Disintegration though impossible in Ethiopia, could be negotiated. There is no defined boundaries among the regions. Off course, they will go after Abbiy in ICC courts. I think the best thing is to work with them. They care about Ethiopia anyway. TPLF is done. Pull the Ethiopian army out of Tigray and let things cool down. Let Tigrayans decide their own future. Off course, the former part of western part of Tigray will be a big contention. Tigrayans say Haile Sellasie annexed those lands to Gondar. The Amharas deny it. If Amharas take it away by force, then you have a far violence, in the regions future. But, a peace making body chosen by the federal government could examine both claims and decide fairly in what part of that land goes to where. But, if you leave it under the amharas, you might as well let Ethiopia disintegrate. Returning all of those lands to Tigray would have far worse consequences too. This is my opinion,. In those lands where the majority claim to be amharas, should go to amhara and vice versa. Or, just hold referendum. But, don't take them for granted.
