The Umma under the custodian of Sultan Erdogan claims that the city of Jerusalem and in particular Al-Aqsa mosque is Islams third holly place of worship after Mecca and Medina But history and all documents stipulate that Al-Aqsa mosque which is in Jerusalem didn't even exist during the Rashudun Caliphate but the mosque was constructed by Abdel-Malik,ibn Marwan of the during the Ummayad Caliphate. The real Al-Aqsa mosque was 25 kilometer from Medina in the city of Bu3rana in Saudi Arabia.

The foundation of the mosque was established by umar ibn khatab in the 7th century 3rd caliph of Islam . In later decades.. Ibn marwan later finished the mosque and the dome of the rock under his reign. That's how it is. Al aqsa is the furtherst mosque according to islam and the hadith mentioned. So it could never be near Medina. Perhaps that mosque just has the same name. How ever Al aqsa is in Al quds Jerusalem. House of all prophers
