Secretary Blinken’s Call with United Nations Secretary-General Guterres

Post by sarcasm » 12 Mar 2021, 20:26

The below is attributable to Spokesperson Ned Price:

Secretary of State Antony J. Blinken spoke with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres yesterday to discuss Afghanistan, Ethiopia, and Burma.

On Afghanistan, Secretary Blinken thanked Secretary-General Guterres for his commitment to helping advance talks on a just and durable political settlement and permanent and comprehensive ceasefire.

Secretary Blinken called for enhanced regional and international efforts to help resolve the humanitarian crisis, end atrocities, and restore peace in Ethiopia. They also discussed the importance of an independent, international and credible investigation into reported human rights abuses and violations in Tigray.

On Burma, Secretary Blinken underscored the importance of continued unity at the United Nations to prevent further violence and urge the restoration of Burma’s democratically-elected government. They agreed to remain in close touch on these and other pressing matters.

Hassad Agamew
No amount of rolling on the grounds of the West streets would make the Ethiopian government blink, and you have seen it. All your foolish attempts to blackmail the Eritrean and Ethiopian governments has failed. Not even the super power, the US, was able to save your coward as's at the UNSC meeting the other day. America and the West aren't also foolish enough to choose between one destitute little "kilil" with no resources to offer to the world, over the a large country, a strategic one, Ethiopia. The West concern is not about your well-being, but the influx destitute refugees of Tigray who are heading their way via Mediterranean sea, They want to stop you from crossing the Amara border to Sudan.
