It is in best interest of Tigray and entire region to have minimal damage and casualties short term (ie short military conflict/ceasefire and talks ASAP). What about long term? The current situation is unsustainable as the Tigray domination (sustained by foreign support only) of prior era. Here are options. What do people vote?
1. Tigray becomes “normal region” and defers to central govt on military/security, foreign relations, major policy. Tigray accept Ethiopian first identity
2. Tigray opts for independence. If this is choice of people it must be accepted by region.

You have to understand that after this operation, Tigray will look like the picture below. Do you think Tigrayans would want to be independent? And would Ethiopia permit it?
