I think there must be a limit to a cash exchange that should be transfered through hand for everyone. This is the norm in many other countries, specially since the advent of international terrorism and money laundering crime activities.

The authorities should be in a position to know and control from where the money comes and to where it is going, else there could be a lot of trouble for the country at some point down the road, I think.

I don't think you are allowed to deposit money that is over a certain limit, may be 2 to 3 digits at the most, from your pocket without bringing the declaration where the money is coming from in many countries around the world.

Is payment of salary in Ethiopia in hands or uniformly per bank transfer today?

Money flow is a considerable security risk, i am afraid, and there should be an oversight .
