Any historians in the house? Ethiopia and port usage?

Post by Afdeyu » 13 Aug 2020, 20:35

Was Ethiopia using Djibouti port (French colony) or Eritrean ports (Italian colony) from 1890-1952?
Menelik era?
Menelik to Haileslasie era?
Haileslassie era before the annexation of Eritrea in 1952?
I know mengstu? Assab & Massawa
Meles? Assab and massawa until 1998
Meles, Hailemariam, Abiy= 1998- present Djibouti port

Mr. historian,
If you think Asab does not belong to Ethiopia, ask your beloved DIA. Ethiopia have been using all ports for trade.
When it comes about pre-derg era, you should also ask the volume of goods flow in and out.
The only point I agree with is why didn’t they fought all the way to the red-sea. I know the reason behind, but not reason enough to leave your own people under other fascist. That was wrong.

I’m just stating facts.

Ayte Simbe

So tell us what the reason was as to why they did not proceed north of Adwa.

All the ports you mentioned were Ethiopians.Illegal occupation does not invalidate the sovereign right of ownership of Ethiopia. The fact that these ports are not under the jurisdiction of Ethiopia now, does not mean they were not part of Ethiopia. The present day disfigured Ethiopia, thanks to TPLF, is not comparable to the historically sovereign Ethiopia. Don't try to fight history, if you can shape your future with what ever dividend you got out of the once mighty Ethiopia that will be something. But my sense tells me Ethiopia will resurrect sometime in the near future.

Eribuplica,

I am not sure you understand distinction between heuristic guess and sense organs. You seem to over infatuated with this Eritrea stuff which have put your life into the quagmire of እሪ በከንቱ for over 30 years. No body is even envious about that.

They claim is that instead of losing by going all the way, better to protect what they have. The king had lost almost a third of his fighters and logistically impractical to keep fighting. As a king, that makes sense.
But I don’t agree with that.

BTW, my apologies for taking a cheap shot at the sense stuff.

All the best!
