1- Ethnic fundamentalism- This is an ideology that preaches for ethnic intolerance and cleansing against those who are perceived as new comers/settlers and the confiscation of their assets.. This was/is being practiced in Oromia, Benshangul and Amhara but you can find it every where in Ethiopia. This ideology is the root cause of killings of Amharas and others in Oromia, killings of Amharas in Benshangul and killing of Tigrayans in Amhara. We are witnessing also religious fundamentalism working embedded with the ethnic fundamentalism in Oromia which could give birth to a dangerous terrorist organization like Boko Haram of Nigeria.

2- One/Unified Ethiopia- This is an ideology that has been propagated by chauvinist Amharas. It looks the Abiy government has been hijacked by people with that vision. For the chauvinists an Ethiopia which is not governed in absolute control from the center and in accordance to the old values of the Showa feudalistic dynasty, that was buried by Mengistu Hailemariam in about 45 years ago , is wrong. They try to glorify their controversial kings like emperor Menelik but ignore or demonize leaders like Emerpror Yohannes and Meles Zenawi. PM Abiy is trying to resurrect the Showan dynasty but at the cost of disintegrating Ethiopia and civil war since Tigray and Oromos will not accept this governance model. As note the Amhara poeple and the "chauvinist Amharas" are too different and targeting the Amharas to fight the chauvinist ideology is totally wrong!

The TPLF/ EPRDF tried to come up with a governance model the avoids the two above models but has been partially successful. PM Abiy has to come up with an improved flexible governance structure that addresses the aspirations of nations and nationalities while enhancing the unity of Ethiopia

You are incorrect. Ethiopia nationalists are not Amhara nationalists or chauvinists Amhara chauvinists are Amhara Regionalists. Not Ethiopianists. Ethiopia has all languages and people groups that isn’t Amhara. It was through Ethiopianism Meles Zenawi could rule Amhara people for 27 years. Ethiopian nationalism what you call Amhara chauvinism is what feeds Tigray with Gojame Teff which has been feeding the stomachs of Oromos and tigrays the past hundred years. Amhara nationalism is the opposite from Ethiopian nationalism which denies ethnicity

Never in Ethiopia history was one language and one religion enforced this is a sinful distortion or hatred towards Ethiopia has always been home to many faiths diverse peoples and languages. The word Ethiopainization should be used more often for example if that was true wouldn’t Wollo be Orthodox Christian by now if one religion was really enforced

Menelik & Selassie never imposed Christian religion on Muslims something king Yohannes did was slaughter 25,000 Muslims in Amhara region this is not Amhara culture or Ethiopian culture but TPLF culture which is one government one ideology one elite (Tegaru only) Do not forget in 2009 97% of Ethiopia government was tigrayan or tigrayan puppet. Dergs regime was more diverse and the Qey Shibir only killed around 2,000 people (public) whole tplf killed 3 million people (private & hidden)

Menelik was pro Oromo his mother was oromo he shared Ethiopia with Oromo many Amharas didn’t want Oromos to be included in Ethiopia Menelik was closer to oromo then he was to Gondar and Gojjam
