the victims of ethnic cleansing are abandoned both by Abiy government and the opposition parties.
We know for a fact that the killing and the burnings of buildings and business was not a spontaneous act; it was a preplanned genocidal mission specifically targeting Amhara and other nationalities and Orthodox Christians. The axes, the machete, and the sticks and the gasoline to kill and burn was readied way before Achallu’s killing; the transportation was ready to bring the murders, thugs, into cities; the police was informed the impending ethnic cleansing so that they can accommodate and protect the ethnic cleansers; this is how the Oromia administration officials made it possible for ethnic cleansers go and commit their crime unhindered. What is really more saddening is the government’s response to the victims of ethnic cleansing. The kind of response which has happened before , it is has been the same on the past three Ethnic cleansing crime in the past two years. The government officials they don’t visit the victims to comfort them or provide protection to those who are sheltered in church or hiding in forest fearing for their life. Either the federal or the local governments don’t provide any kind of assistance to these victims of hate crime. The local government bodies late the criminals who committed these crimes let go in weeks or days so that these criminals intimidate the victims again, The government officials don’t help the victims to rebuild their houses or provide them any assistance for these victimized citizens to reestablish their lives. If the government does not have resources to help, it can encourage civic organizations to raise fund. The government’s nonchalant approach to the victims of ethnic cleansing sends a signal to the groups that has committed this organized crime that they are free to do this kind of crime with impunity. Although the government is responsible for the safety of Ethiopians, the opposition parties ,and civic organzations and the leaders of other regional leaders lack of condemnation and their failure to coordinate and assist the victims , makes the victims more vulnerable and make them feel they are by themselves to deal with this human tragedy. Ethiopians by not reaching out to help the victoms of Ethnic cleansing we are exposing victims for perpetual attack , and condemn them to live a life of fear.
