The incompetent Abiy doesn’t want to fight tplf, but he wants to keep them as a hated scapegoat puppy that he can blame on for the all ills in the country.
Abiy doesn’t even have to fight a war he could just stop the subsidized fuel to tplf, change birr currency notes, stop electrical power sent to tplf land. Abiys regime’s Still paying salaries of tplf Government officials .
No need for war to control tplf, but dictators love to have enemies to keep their subjects busy and that’s what the psychological warfare waged on y’all who thing war is needed to bring down the already irrelevant woyane.
Besides, tplf land is irrelevant peripheral region that no body cares on what they do in that corner... just think about it
Sad dictators are playing with your emotions and holding you hostages so you don’t think about other important things in life and in your country

The only way war can start is if tplf felt its power is threatened internal within Tigray from forces like fenqil, it can start war with Eritrea or Amhara so tplf can consolidate its power with in try and justify the elimination of its internal enemies, But this could be a double edge sword for tplf since Isaias and/or Abiy can go all the way for the kill.
Abiy and Isaias love a wounded weak tplf, since it helps them keep their subjects under the Fake clouds of War.

TPLF has no interest to start war. Abiy plan is to use Isaias Afeworki and Amhara kill to invade Tigray with his approval and backing. But no enemies of Tigray survived to tell their story and this one is not going to be different.

Abiy has a wannabe dictatorship inclination So far, he wants to control and be a populist. I don’t think Abiy cares about tribal allegiances, but he’ll use it for his advantage to solidify his power.
For Abiy it’s all about Abiy which’s typically dictators trait.

Tplf is the only entity in the whole world that doesn’t accept Eritrea’s internationally recognized borders. If they had a little brain they would pull out off Eritrean territory and declare to the world that they accept the border ruling as is, just like what Abiy did. That would take away the excuse for Isaias to come after tplf,... but tplf likes getting cornered and making enemies with all its neighbors.
Empty bravado is not going to save them
(Don’t mix the two that Tigray and Eritrean people will always be neighbors, but tplf (20+ individuals) are criminals and thieves that deserve to face justice.)
